MUMBAI: Amazon India said on Thursday that it has created over 1,00,000 seasonal jobs across its network of operations ahead of summer festive season. These opportunities include direct and indirect jobs in cities including Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Calcutta, Lucknow and Chennai.
Its hiring is ahead of Amazon’sGreat Indian Festival‘, which starts on October 8, with access to Prime customers a day earlier, Amazon said India.
The company says it has already brought many of these new employees into its existing network, where they can pick, pack, ship and deliver customer orders safely and efficiently.
“The festive season is always a special time at Amazon… we welcome an additional workforce of over 1,00,000 people to strengthen our fulfillment, delivery and service capabilities,” said Akhil SaxenaVice President of Operations, APAC/MENA/LATAM, and WW Customer Service Lead, Amazon.
The company has fulfillment centers in 15 states and offers 43 million cubic feet of storage space for seller inventory.
