Honda Cars India said on Saturday that domestic wholesalers jumped 29 percent to 8,714 units in September.
The Japanese automaker had shipped 6,765 units to dealers by September 2021.
The company said exports were 2,333 units last month, up from 2,964 units a year ago.
“Celebratory demand was strong and continues to show good momentum. On the supply side, we were able to increase our factory output compared to last month, which is also positive for the festive sale in terms of better availability of Honda cars during Navratra’s , Dussehra and Diwali period,” said Yuichi Murata, director of Honda Cars India (Marketing and Sales) in a statement.
The company’s volume models, City and Amaze, continue to nurture customer trust and drive strong sales, he added.
