ABU DHABI: Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal said on Thursday that India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) aim to expand bilateral trade to $100 billion.
“Basic basis on which I think we want to significantly expand trade between our two countries, at least to make it US$100 billion quickly,” Goyal said at the meeting with top business leaders from India and UAE organized by the Chamber of Commerce Abu Dhabi. .
In the UAE, Goyal co-chaired the 11th meeting of the Joint High Level Task Force between India and UAE to boost investments between the two countries, with several MoUs signed in different sectors.
“I strongly believe that the incredible love and affection that the people of India and the people of the UAE have for each other, the immense contribution that companies are making to further strengthen this geopolitical strategic partnership will make this truly decisive. partnership and brotherhood…,” Goyal said at the meeting with top business leaders from India and UAE organized by Abu Dhabi Chamber.

In the next four years, we expect to become the third largest GDP in the world,” he added.
Goyal held a meeting with the India-UAE Business Council (UAE Chapter) delegation together with Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, UAE.
“Because the UAE is our second largest export destination, our third largest trading partner, our fourth largest investor in terms of foreign direct investment. The Comprehensive Economic Partnership is the very first partnership that the UAE has implemented or entered into with any country in the world, bilaterally. All this is, in a sense, the basis on which we work together. We are both countries that share a very rich history, a very fascinating past, a past that represents heritage, culture and tradition. We are both countries with immense potential in the present…,” Goyal added.
Earlier, while elaborating on the UAE’s interest in investing in India, Goyal said that a significant flow of investments will be witnessed in the coming days, both in the public markets and in the manufacturing and services sectors, adding: “even the moon is not the limit.”
Goyal told ANI, “While at one point we would say the sky is the limit, I can now say that even the moon is not the limit.”
