According to the Reserve Bank of India, the liquidity of the banking system has fallen into a deficit for the first time in nearly 40 months.
The RBI injected Rs 218 billion ($2.73 billion) into the banking system on Tuesday, the largest since May 2019.
Nightly rates remain high, with the daytime rate rising to 5.85%, the highest level since July 2019.
