“Sesame Street” has a new streaming house.
Netflix Will Streamt the following three seasons of “Sesame Street”, as well as a library with previous episodes, which says the future of the old children's program that is known for characters such as Elmo and Cookie Monster.
The deal with Netflix was announced on Monday in addition to another agreement with PBS, the old traditional TV house of “Sesame Street”.
According to a Netflix spokesperson, Netflix has the exclusive global premiere streaming rights on new episodes of seasons 56 to 58. New episodes will also be available on free, PBS -TV stations financed by the Government in the US and on the digital platforms of PBS Kids, including the YouTube -.
According to the conditions of the deal, Netflix will also get rights at 90 hours of earlier episodes, and it will be able to develop video games for both “Sesam Street” and his spin-off series “Sesam Street Mecha Builders”.
The deal comes afterwards Warner Bros. Discovery chose not to extend his five-year streaming agreement in December with “Sesame Street” on his Platform Max-Nu, again, HBO Max-what led to a search for the next distribution partner of the iconic Kids Show. Under the previous deal, episodes debuted on PBS months after they were released on the streaming service of WBD, which also has an extensive library of last seasons.

KID and family programming represents 15% of the total viewing of Netflix, the company said in the release of Monday.
WBD reportedly paid $ 30 million to $ 35 million a year for new episodes of “Sesame Street”. Conditions of the deal with Netflix were not announced.

The new season will be “re -conceived” to record new segments and format changes, according to the release. The episodes will contain one story of 11 minutes, to “tell stories with even more character -driven humor and heart.”
Season 56 is released in three batches that start later this year.
