NMDC records 24% growth in production in 2021-22

The Steel Ministry’s National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) entity recorded 24 percent production growth as it produced 42.19 million tons of iron ore in 2021-22, compared to 34.15 million tons of production last year.

In 2021-2022, NMDC sold 40.56 million tons of iron ore, which was 22 percent more than 33.25 million tons it sold in 202-21.

During the March 2021-2022 quarter, NMDC produced 13.86 million tons of iron ore, up from 12.31 million tons in the same period last year, a growth of 13 percent.

At the same time, it posted 11 percent sales growth in the March quarter as it sold 12.29 million tons of iron ore, compared to 11.09 million tons in the March 2020-21 quarter.
