The leading National Stock Exchange (NSE) said on Sunday that shareholders have approved the appointment of Ashishkumar Chauhan as director and chief executive.
According to a statement, the Extraordinary General Meeting (EOGM) of NSE took place on 11 August.
Shareholders approved the appointment of Mr. Chauhan, who was the MD and CEO of rival exchange BSE, with 99.99 percent vote.
He took charge as NSE chief on July 26. His appointment to the top position of the NSE was approved on July 18 by the capital markets regulator, Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).
He took over the helm of NSE from Vikram Limaye, whose five-year term ended on July 16. Mr. Limaye did not seek a new term of office with the National Stock Exchange (NSE), although he was eligible.
