MUMBAI: Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor. Shaktikanta Das on Saturday was awarded for being ranked ‘A+’ in the Global Financial Central Bankers Report Tickets 2023 at Marakesh in Morocco, the central bank said.
“Governor Shri Shaktikanta Das @DasShaktikanta received the award for being ranked ‘A+’ in the Global Finance Central Banker Report Cards 2023 in #Marakkesh, #Morocco today,” the RBI said in a message on ‘X’.
Global Finance’s annual Central Banker Report Cards recognize central bank governors whose strategies outperformed their peers through originality, creativity and tenacity, the RBI added.
“We are pleased to announce that Governor Shri Shaktikanta Das has been rated ‘A+’ in the Global Finance Central Banker Report Cards 2023. Shri Das has been placed at the top of the list of three Central Bank Governors who have been rated A+, ” the RBI said in an earlier post on ‘X’ in September.
Besides Das, Switzerland’s Thomas J Jordan and Vietnam’s Nguyen Thi Hong also received the award for being ranked ‘A+’ by the Central Banker Report Cards.
The Central Banker Report Cards, published annually by Global Finance since 1994, rates the central bank governors of 101 major countries, territories and districts, including the European Union, the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank, the Bank of Central African States and the Central Bank of Central Bank. West African states, according to a press release from Global Finance.
The grades are based on a scale of A to F for success in inflation control, economic growth goals, currency stability and interest rate management. While an “A” represents an excellent performance, an “F” represents an outright failure.
Global Finance regularly selects the top performers among banks and other financial services providers. These awards have become a trusted standard of excellence for the global financial community, the press release said.
