Indian markets opened lower on Wednesday as investors took near-record highs despite encouraging gains macroeconomic data.
The Nifty 50 index had fallen 18.30 points, down 0.09%, to settle at 19,974.90. Meanwhile, the Sensex fell 71.07 points to 67,150.06.
Notable early gainers in the Nifty included Dr. Reddy’s Labs, ONGC, Divis LabsPower Grid Corp and BPCL, while TCS, HDFC Life, Wipro, HCL Technologies and Adani Ports were among the early losers.
