Former New Zealand cricketer Simon Doull caused a social media storm among Pakistani cricket fans after his on-air criticism of Babar Azam during a Pakistan Super League (PSL) match. Doull accused Babar of putting his personal milestones before the team’s, prompting a plethora of fan reactions on Twitter. Now he has become a talking point again due to his comments about the wife of another Pakistani cricketer, Hassan Ali, during the PSL match between Islamabad United and Multan Sultans.
Islamabad recorded a thrilling victory over Multan in the PSL. Doull commented as the winning team’s dugout celebrated its emphatic victory. Just as the camera focused on Samiyaa Arzoo, Hassan Ali’s wife, Doull was heard to say, “She won. She also won a few hearts I think. That’s fantastic, absolutely gorgeous. And the victory.”
The video of the commentary is going viral on social media.

Earlier, Doull had questioned Babar’s decision to slow the pace of scoring points just as he was about to reach the 100-point mark.
“Instead of putting the team first… lately that’s all that’s happened. Instead of pushing the limits, so much firepower is coming. Hundreds are great, stats are great, but the team must come first.’ Doull said during the game.
As for the match between Islamabad United and Multan Sultans, the Shadab Khan-led team secured a 2-run victory, chasing the target of 206 runs off the penultimate ball of the match.
