Former skipper Salman Butt is not happy with Pakistan’s Cricket Board chairman Ramiz Raja’s decision to take land from Australia to prepare walk-in pitches in the country. Butt, who is currently the head coach of the Singapore cricket team, believes that all types of pitches are available in Pakistan, and instead of importing ground from Australia, management should use ground from venues such as Diamond Cricket Club (Islamabad) . and Quetta, which offer good pace and resilience.
“All types of pitches are available in Pakistan. If you are looking for resilience and pace, use the Diamond (Islamabad) ground. The Quetta field also has a lot of resilience and pace. Ask the chairman to go around and have a look to the fields in Pakistan, instead of taking the soil from Australia,” Butt said in a video uploaded to his YouTube channel.
“He should definitely look at the fields and analyze the reason behind the pace and bounce. In Quetta, the field is dry and the bowl goes fast. I don’t know why they don’t get this information. And even if they do, I don’t know I don’t know why they have this obsession. But if he’s adamant, let him import the soil,” he added.
The PCB faced heavy criticism for producing lifeless tracks during Pakistan’s historic home run against Australia earlier this year.

In fact, the field used for the first test in Rawalpindi was rated “below average” by ICC.
Pakistan eventually lost the three-game series 0-1.
