Earlier, David Warner also praised Head and called his innings “entertaining.”
“They bowled well, didn’t they? They hit the target with a short length. What an entertaining innings from Travis Head. It has to be there for him personally, that’s the Travis Head we know. He supported himself and supported his areas and walks away with 112 to his name,” Warner said after the game ended on Day 2.

Head’s knock was punctuated by 12 fours and two sixes. The southpaw equaled Australia’s Joe Darling for third fastest Ashes hundred. The fastest ton of ash belongs to Australian Adam Gilchrist, who had three figures from just 57 balls in 2006 in Perth.
Head, who has Mitchell Starc (10) as company, is set to aim for an increasing score on Day 3 and take Australia’s lead over 250.
