Australian teenager Jake Fraser-McGurk made a one-handed blast at the deep mid-wicket line to fire Adelaide Strikers batter Jake Weatherald in a Big Bash League (BBL) game at Marvel Stadium. On the second ball of the seventh over by spinner Zahir Khan, Weatherald sweetened the ball, sweeping with immense force to Fraser-McGurk, who timed his jump to perfection to grab an absolute peach of a catch. It was Renegades’ second breakthrough when Strikers were reduced to 50/2 just after the power play.
The video was posted by the BBL Twitter handle with a caption that read:

Younger Fraser-McGurk made up for a disappointing performance with the bat after being dismissed for eight runs from 11 balls. Incidentally, it was Weatherald who took the catch to fire the teen in the first innings of the game.
Leading batten, Renegades scored 153/9 in 20 overs after a disciplined bowling show by the Strikers’ bowlers. Captain Peter Siddle claimed three wickets while leg spinner Rashid Khan finished with a single wicket.

In response, Strikers started on a bright note, but the fall of regular wickets always kept Renegades in the hunt. In the end, the bowlers held their nerves to help Renegades defend their total and score a two-run victory.
Spinner Zahir was the bowlers’ favorite with figures of three for 24 runs, while Will Sutherland took two wickets in two overs and gave up 13 runs.
