Former South African pacesetter Dale Steyn had all the credit for Team India after the Virat Kohli-led side defeated the Proteas in the first test of the ongoing three-game series at the SuperSport Park in Centurion on Thursday. For the record, South Africa has a brilliant track record in Centurion, as far as Test Cricket is concerned. They had won 21 of the 27 matches played at the venue prior to the first Test. The 113-run defeat to India was South Africa’s first loss at the venue after seven consecutive Test wins. After India’s emphatic victory, Steyn took to Twitter and praised the visitors for their performance, labeling them as a “world class” side.
“Well done India. Over the past few trips to SA they have become more and more impressive. Winning a world class team is what they are doing at the moment. Congratulations,” Steyn tweeted.

With South Africa chasing 305 runs, Indian fast bowlers were too hot for the Proteas batters as they crumbled a total of 191 on Day 5.
While Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah took three wickets each, Mohammed Siraj and Ravichandran Ashwin took two wickets each in the second innings.
Previously, KL Rahul hit a ton on Day 1 when India registered a first-innings total of 327. In response, the hosts were ejected for 197, while Shami scored a five-for the visitors.
With this win, India took a 1-0 lead in the series of three games.
