Sydney Sixers defeated Perth Scorchers by 6 runs in their previous game in the ongoing edition of the Big Bash League on Sunday. Chasing 152, the Scorchers were limited to 145/7 despite a 66 run unbeaten run by Stephen Eskinazi. For Sixers, Sean Abbott took three wickets, while Hayden Kerr and Daniel Christian scalped two wickets each. Wicket-keeper Josh Philippe top-scored for the Sixers to lead them to a total of 151/5 in 20 overs. However, during the game, an interesting incident was captured that attracted attention.
During the 19th over of the Scorchers chase, Christian got ready to deliver a ball to Andrew Tye but came back after noticing that Eskinazi, who was on the non-striker’s end, was out of the crease before the ball was delivered.
Christian didn’t run away from Eskinazi, but said, “It was a warning buddy.”

However, this was not the first time a bowler had sent off or cautioned a player at the non-striker’s end. Earlier, Melbourne Stars skipper Adam Zampa tried to take out Melbourne Renegades’ Tom Rogers at the end of the non-striker when he went out of whack.
The decision was reviewed and the third referee did not consider it a run-out, as Zampa’s arm had “gone past the vertical line”, which is not considered legal for such a dismissal under ICC rule.
Sydney Sixers now face Adelaide Strikers in their next game on Tuesday, while Perth Scorchers face Hobart Hurricanes on Wednesday.
