Glenn Maxwell Posted a Barack Obama Meme After a No-Ball Controversy Between DC-RR© BCCI/IPL
The drama unfolded in the final of the match between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Rajasthan Royals (RR), when the former expressed disappointment at a referee’s decision. With DC needing 36 runs from the latter, Rovman Powell took the game to compatriot Obed McCoy, hitting him three sixes of the first three deliveries. The third six came from a full throw across the waist. However, the on-field umpires didn’t call it a no-ball, which would have given DC an extra point and a free hit on the next pitch.
DC skipper Rishabh Pant and assistant coach Pravin Amre were visibly upset at the umpires’ decision on the pitch.
While the umpires on the field decided not to take help from the TV umpire, Pant was seen waving to his batters to leave the field.
Amre also ran onto the field to discuss this with the on-field umpires.
After the match, Australia and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) all-rounder Glenn Maxwell tweeted his thoughts on the entire saga.
Maxwell said that while umpires check every ball for overshoot, why not do the same for a high full toss. He captioned the post with a meme featuring former US President Barack Obama.
So umpires don’t check balls for forefoot every ball, but can’t control a high full toss? Sounds logical… pic.twitter.com/RUOX3Yh3YF

RR won the match and went on to top the IPL points list.
Pant was fined 100 percent match fee for his actions, while Shardul Thakur was also fined 50 percent match fee.
Amre was also suspended for one match and fined 100 percent of his match money for violating the IPL code of conduct.
