Indian sailor Deepak Chahar pulled his right hamstring during the third T20I against the West Indies and was cast in doubt for the Sri Lanka series, which started Thursday. Chahar, who was in good rhythm and took two early wickets, saw him stumble on his run in the final delivery of his second over and limp off the field. The extent of the damage is determined. In case it’s a tear, Chahar could also be a dubious starter for the IPL where Chennai Super Kings cashed a massive Rs 14 crore at the auction to keep his services.
Usually, a grade one tear takes six weeks for full recovery and rehabilitation.
As of now, he is certainly a questionable starter for the T20 International three-game series against Sri Lanka, which starts in Lucknow on February 24.
He may have to fly directly to Bengaluru at the National Cricket Academy to undergo a rehabilitation program.
