England played an offensive brand of cricket in the Test series against New Zealand and it was fitting that the hosts completed the series with a huge six from Jonny Bairstow. England defeated New Zealand by seven wickets in the third Test to make the series 3-0. Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow were unbeaten at 86 and 71 respectively, with England chasing the total with seven wickets in hand in the second session on Day 5.
On the second ball of the 55th over, Bairstow hit a huge six on Michael Bracewell’s bowling. The ball was tossed up and Bairstow hit it over the cow corner. The win was sealed by that shot and then both Root and Bairstow hugged in the middle.
There was only one way to win, there really wasn’t one?

Rain washed away the morning session, leaving England, 183-2 at night, with a nominal 78 overs to score the 113 extra runs they needed for the win.
But they only needed 15.2 overs, with Bairstow ending the game after just over an hour of play Monday with a six over deep midwicket from spinner Michael Bracewell.
The win gave England a 3-0 clean sweep of New Zealand in their first series under new captain Ben Stokes and red ball coach Brendon McCullum, a former New Zealand skipper.
