Spinner Sneh Rana held her in the final as she defended 14 runs to help Harmanpreet Kaur-led Team India beat England in the semi-finals to advance to the gold medal match at the ongoing Commonwealth Games. By the time Rana was to deliver the final, the match’s fate was nearly sealed with England needing 11 runs. And India knew they had won with one delivery left, with the comparison at 11 of 1 ball. The final delivery was beaten for a six by Sophie Ecclestone, but it didn’t matter as Team India sealed the match and the players were absolutely delighted to have secured themselves at least a silver medal.
The whole team came in the middle to congratulate each other, with cheers on every face.

Team India will now face Australia/New Zealand in the gold medal match on Sunday.
In the India-England game, the former struck first, posting 164/5 in 20 overs, largely as a result of Smriti Mandhana’s crushing KO of 61 runs from 32 deliveries. Jemimah Rodrigues also came in with a 44-run unbeaten knock.

Sneh Rana and Deepti Sharma, who defended 165, were the best with the ball, as the duo took three wickets.
Sneh Rana in particular stood out, as she threw the crucial overs of the game upon death. For England, Nat Sciver scored the highest score with 41 runs.
