Five games down 0-2, India will face South Africa in the third T20I in Visakhapatnam later on Tuesday. The Rishabh Pant-led side are facing a do-or-die situation after losing their first two games to the Proteas. While several current and former cricketers want management to include Umran Malik or Arshdeep Singh in the playing XI, former India pacer Ashish Nehra believes the team should remain unchanged for the third T20I.
“It’s not like you lost nine games or anything. It’s only two games and that’s because the other team played well. So unless there’s a big change in the circumstances, it’s going to be the same team. Other players sitting outside “If they get a chance to tie, they’ll have a run of four or five games,” Nehra said while interacting with ESPNcricinfo.
Nehra also supported Avesh Khan to keep his place in the playing XI, saying the pacer has not been used properly.
“Avesh Khan didn’t do badly. He didn’t even get bowled in full (in the second T20I). So unless they want to add another fast bowler or they think two spinners are less, it’s better to go with the same eleven” he explained.

After failing to defend a 212-run goal in the first ODI, India was limited to a total of 148 for six in 20 overs in the second T20I.
In response, Heinrich Klaasen scored 81 from just 46 balls while South Africa chased the total with four wickets and 10 balls left.
