Gujarat Titans won the Indian Premier League title in their first season when they defeated the Rajasthan Royals by seven wickets in the final on Sunday. Rajasthan Royals chose to bat after winning the toss and were limited to 130 for nine by the Gujarat bowlers in a packed Narendra Modi Stadium. The tournament’s top scorer, Jos Buttler, stepped out of GT skipper Hardik Pandya after making 39 balls out of 35. Hardik bowled brilliantly, finishing 3/17 in his four overs, while Rashid Khan also had an excellent outing, taking 1/18 in his full quota of overs.
In response, GT lost two early wickets, but eventually chased the goal of 131 with 11 balls left.
While Hardik also did well with the bat, scoring 34, Shubman Gill scored the highest score for Gujarat with an unbeaten 45.
