Rashid Khan saved his best for last over on Wednesday. Chasing 196 against SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH), odds were high against Gujarat Titans as they needed 22 of the last six balls at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium. At the crease, Rahul Tewatia and Khan with left-arm pacer Marco Jansen bowled over the latter. However, the duo were unnerved as they hit the final ball goal of the match to take GT to a five wicket victory. With this win, GT has their No. 1 position in the points table with 14 points.
But before all that could happen, the GT dugout had some nervous moments as Tewatia and Rashid Khan had a tough job ahead of them. Tewatia hit Jansen for a six over mid-wicket from the first pitch, then singled. With the batsman out of the game, GT camp was nervous. But Khan hit a six straight to the ground on the third ball, but the fourth ball was a dot.
Since GT needed nine of two balls, Khan first cut one for the maximum and then hit another six of the last ball to take his team to victory.

“Feels good to go there and have that confidence and keep my form stronger and hit it, happy to perform against them (SRH), just trying to play my game and have that faith in my batting that I come from work for the past two years,” Khan said after the game.
“When there were 22 left. I just told Tewatia that we gave 25 in the last over with one of our best bowlers and I told him to have that conviction and not to panic, anything is possible. Stay just there, keep your shape and hit it strong and that was the plan (with Tewatia).”
