Pakistan got off to a heartbreaking start in the ICC T20 World Cup on Sunday, when they narrowly lost their opener to arch-rival India in the final delivery. The team under Babar Azam have the ability to bounce back from this emotionally draining loss and they are currently playing Zimbabwe in Perth in their second match.
Since the last T20 World Cup, the Pakistani team carries its national flag to its training sessions. Speaking to the ICC, paceman Haris Rauf revealed the reason behind this practice.
“The meaning of the flag is that when Saqlain Mushtaq joined at the last T20 World Cup, he integrated this new practice into the team. When we look at the flag, it motivates us. When we look at the flag, we also think about the 22 crore people at home, who always support and support us. We play for them and for the country. So we try to keep them to us and do our best,” Rauf said in a video posted by the ICC.
Haris Rauf took important wickets in the game against India, but he was taken to the cleaners by Virat Kohli in the 19th.
