Harbhajan Singh has opened up his relationship with former India skipper and teammate MS Dhoni amid rumors of a rift between the two. Harbhajan retired from his cricket career in December 2021. After his retirement, the off-spinner didn’t mince words when he spoke about his ouster from the national team. During an interview, he said that he feels other former players could have played for a few more years had they received the same support from the team management as someone like former India captain MS Dhoni.
While the comment was seen by many as an outburst from Harbhajan towards the team management and Dhoni – who was the leader of the team in the second half of Harbhajan’s international cricket career, many assumed that the relationship between the two was not good.
In his latest interview, Harbhajan has clarified that he has no grudge against Dhoni and said that both of them are very good friends.
“Why should I have a problem with MS Dhoni? We played a lot of cricket for India and we’ve been very, very good friends, and we still are. He got busy with his life and I with mine, and we meet each other not often. But there is not a single break,” Harbhajan said on Sports Yaari.
“Speaking of the rumors of a breakup, he didn’t take my property (laughs). But yes, I’m interested in some of his properties, especially his farm,” he added.
MS Dhoni retired from his international career in 2020, but he remains active in the Indian Premier League. The wicket-keeper-batter will then be seen in action in IPL 2023 from March 31.
