Left-handed batter David Warner is one of the most consistent players in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and he is the fourth-highest scorer in the money-rich league overall with 5,762 runs in 158 games. The opener who now represents Delhi Capitals has four hundred to his name in the tournament. In the current season, Warner has registered 365 runs in eight games, making it the fourth highest scorer. The batter was at his best against SunRisers Hyderabad when he played a match-winning 92 knockout.
This season, the left-handed batter has logged four half-centuries, but the three-digit mark has eluded him. However, speaking after the game against SRH, Warner said he will leave the scoring of hundreds to Rajasthan Royals batter Jos Buttler.
Buttler is the top scorer this season with 588 runs in 10 games using three tons.
“Hopefully they (his children) are still asleep, but I think they can be happy. But I haven’t gotten a hundred yet! Jeebiess, that’s right! I’ll leave that (the hundreds) to Jos,” Warner said at the presentation after the match.
Earlier in the season, Warner had talked about how his kids want him to score a hundred.
“The kids just want to know why I can’t get a hundred and why I can’t do it like Jos Buttler who also hits sixes,” Warner had said after the game against Punjab Kings, where he had scored 60 runs.
