The fifth T20I between India and South Africa was canceled on Sunday due to rain in Bengaluru. Only 3.3 overs were bowled in the match and in that span India had scored 28/2 with both Ishan Kishan and Ruturaj Gaikwad in the hut. More than the cricketing, however, it was one incident involving Gaikwad that drew attention, and netizens were left furious.
The incident took place during the rain break when Gaikwad was in the dugout.
A video has gone viral of a gardener trying to take a selfie with the batter. It was then that Gaikwad asked the gardener to keep his distance and then he looked the other way.

People defending rituraj gaikwad need to understand that groundmen are also COVID protected.

In the fifth and final T20I, Gaikwad was able to score only 10 runs before walking back to the pavilion in the fourth left of the innings. Lungi Ngidi had eliminated the batter.
In the whole series, Gaikwad only registered fifty and it came during the third T20I in Vishakhapatnam.

The righthanded batter registered 96 runs in five games, including 57 in the third T20I.
India will then face Ireland in a two-match T20I series starting on June 26.
