Former Indian cricket team all-rounder Irfan Pathan was left disappointed after Sanju Samson was left out of the Indian squad for the upcoming ODI series against Australia. Samson was a backup member of the squad for the 2023 Asia Cup but he came back before the final and was not included in the squad for the 2023 Cricket World Cup. Pathan took to social media to post about the development and said that he would have been disappointed if he had been in Samson’s position. “If I am in Sanju Samson’s place now, I will be very disappointed…,” Irfan wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
The virtual press conference to announce the Indian squad for the three-match ODI series against Australia took place on Monday.
Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) chief selector Ajit Agarkar announced two different teams for the ODI series against Australia.
When I’m in the place of @IamSanjuSamson Now I will be very disappointed…
