Talking about his knock after the close of play on Day 1, Pant said: “I like the opposition (England) but I don’t think about it much. I just try to give my 100 percent in every game. My focus is on the cricket I play. Since childhood, my coach Tarak Mister told me that you can hit the ball, but you can also work on your defense.”

“I’ll keep working on my defence, in Test cricket defense is important. Any ball you can’t hit so I keep focusing and if I think I have to defend I defend and if I think I can hit the ball” , he added. †
