Due to intermittent rain, the Asia Cup Super 4 match between India and Pakistan became a reserve day on Sunday. India were 147 for two in 24.1 overs when heavy rain lashed the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Then the rain stopped, but the restart was postponed due to the wet outfield. A few wet spots on the ground were the main reason. The grounds staff even used fans to dry the areas apart from using a sponge. However, before the game could resume, heavy rain broke out again, forcing the game to be moved to Monday.
Play on Monday will resume at 3:00 PM IST. Before the match resumes, here is an hourly forecast of the weather in Colombo –

Before the game changer again, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul hit 8 and 17 respectively after openers Rohit Sharma (56) and Shubman Gill (58) hit fine half-centuries.
India’s Asia Cup opener against Pakistan was canceled due to rain.
The weather has been a topic of intense discussion during the Sri Lanka leg of the Asia Cup. Rain is expected in the Sri Lankan capital throughout the tournament.
The Asian Cricket Council’s decision to retain a reserve day only for Sunday’s match and the final also sparked controversy.
