The current sponsor – Killer Jeans – only has the sponsorship rights until May 31, after which Adidas takes over the deal. Before Killer Jeans, MPL was the kit sponsor of the Indian team and had transferred the rights to Kewal Kiran Clothing Limit in December last year.
In December last year, it was also reported that Edu tech giant Byju’s, the current sponsor, was willing to end its deal before the contractual end in November 2023. The BCCI is also reportedly on the hunt for a new lead sponsor.
During the upcoming World Test Championship finals, the Indian team is expected to wear the new Adidas kits. India will host the ICC ODI World Cup from October to November this year. The team is scheduled to play a number of ODIs before the new blue colored kits are on display.
