The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 is off to a brilliant start with 10 teams going head-to-head and this time battling for the title. As competition heats up, longstanding records are being surpassed, while new achievements are made every day. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) all-rounder Dwayne Bravo, who remains a crucial member of the team, is on the cusp of breaking a huge IPL bowling record currently shared with Lasith Malinga. At the start of IPL 2022, Lasith Malinga of Sri Lanka held the record with 170 wickets in the history of the IPL. However, Bravo reminded everyone he wasn’t far off the mark and tied that record with a brilliant three-wicket haul in CSK’s first game of the season against Kolkata Knight Riders.
Bravo matched Malinga in their opener against KKR on March 26 of this season. There wasn’t much to celebrate for Bravo, though, as CSK ended up on the losing side despite finishing 3/20 in 4 overs.
Currently, both Malinga and Bravo are at 170 wickets. While Malinga took the feat in just 122 IPL games, Bravo has done the same in 30 games more than the Sri Lankan.
Malinga has an average of 19.79 while Bravo has an average of 24 in IPL cricket.

With Bravo topping the wicket-taker list with Malinga, the West Indian has also been one of the most consistent performers with the bat.
In 152 games, Bravo has scored 1,537 runs at an average of 22.94, including five fifties.
