Right-handed batter Shubman Gill, who was acquired by the Gujarat Titans for Rs 8 crore, will try to make his mark in the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Having played for Kolkata Knight Riders in recent editions, the talented youngster is no stranger to performing under high pressure and his franchise hopes he will amply support leader Hardik Pandya as the team does everything they can in his debut season to to go to extremes.
The team has the likes of Rashid Khan and captain Hardik, but Shubman thinks a former KKR teammate of his, who is now part of the Titans squad, will become the team’s X-Factor.
“Yes I think when we were in Kolkata Knight Riders Lockie Ferguson was a huge asset to us and I am sure he will be a huge X factor for us in the Gujarat Titans squad. As you asked me, if I can help Hardik, yes if he is willing to ask me for advice then of course I will help him in any situation,” said Shubman while answering an DailyExpertNews question during a media interaction on Sunday.
The IPL 2022 season will start on March 26 and the first match of the competition will be held between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders at Wankhede Stadium. Gujarat Titans begin their season on March 28 against the Lucknow Super Giants.

Sadly I wasn’t retained by KKR but it felt great to be picked up by Gujarat Titans I have not contacted Hardik Pandya or Ashish Nehra because I have been in quarantine. Once I get out we will get our plans finalized and I will have a lot more clarity about my role both individually and for the team.”
