Lucknow Super Giants skipper KL Rahul on Saturday called his match-winning hundred against Mumbai Indians a “special one”, but wants his team to remain humble after a good start to the IPL campaign in the first year. Rahul scored 103 not out on 60 balls to lead LSG to an 18-point win against five-time champions Mumbai Indians, who have fallen to their sixth straight defeat.
“It’s a special day (1ooth IPL game) and a special hundred. I wasn’t in the runs, but the field was good and I made the most of it,” Rahul said after the game.
Having won four out of six matches so far, Rahul warned his team against any kind of complacency.
“We played well, we have to be humble and keep learning. The team is brilliant and I enjoy spending time with them. Creating a team that felt comfortable was something we were looking for in the auction,” he said.
Rahul believes that hitting first in afternoon matches is an advantage as the team chasing does not get the help of dew compared to sides hitting second in evening matches.

If there’s one area of improvement he’s looking for from his team, it’s consistency in the power playovers.
“The batters sometimes didn’t do well in the power play. Keeping the opponent calm early in their innings would also help. I don’t look at different opponents differently,” he added.
