The IPL auction is just days away and the Indian Premier League’s most successful team has a lot to plan for their future in the competition. Five-time winner of the competition, Mumbai Indians have kept four of their key players, but they had a solid team and will have to devise a good strategy to get their core group back. Captain Rohit Sharma, tempo spear Jasprit Bumrah, the talented Suryakumar Yadav and the mercurial Kieron Pollard were retained for the IPL 2022 mega-auction. They have already lost Hardik Pandya to the Ahmedabad franchise.

Here are five players we think Mumbai Indians should lead the IPL auction:
1. Trent Boult (Rs 4 crore max): The Kiwi paceman was a great performer for Mumbai Indians and is the key to quick wickets in the power play. His partnership with Bumrah was exceptional and Mumbai should try to get him back.
2. Ishan Kishan (Rs 3.5 crore max): The little keeper herd is another integral member of the Mumbai Indians squad and with Hardik out of the picture it becomes important to pick him up. Another important aspect to keep in mind is Rohit Sharma’s fitness issues and Kishan may be at the top of the rankings.
3. Yuzvendra Chahal (Rs 5 crore max): The only department where Mumbai Indians were weak is spin and Chahal has done a great job in IPL over the years. RCB will fight tooth and nail to get Chahal back, but MI would gladly take him away from Kohli and his company.

4. Jason Holder (Rs 6 crore max): Kieron Pollard is on his last legs and Holder will be an excellent replacement for years to come. He can pick wickets and also get extremely important runs in the order.
5. Yash Dhull (Rs 50 lakh max): The U19 World Cup winning captain has shown that he is a great batter for India and Mumbai Indians can provide him with the perfect opportunity to learn and grow.
