Sunrisers Hyderabad pacer Umran Malik took home the Indian Premier League 2022 Emerging Player of the Season award on Sunday. The young pacemaker took 22 wickets in 14 matches in the 15th running of the IPL with a bowling average of 20.18 and economy of 9.03. While Rajasthan Royals star batter Jos Buttler took home six awards including MVP of the season, Orange Cap, most sixers in season, most fours in season, Powerplayer of the season and Gamechanger of the season award.
The Englishman scored no less than 863 runs in 17 games, with an average of 57.53 and a strike rate of 149.05. Buttler also hit four centuries and four half centuries in IPL 2022. Second in the count was Lucknow Super Giants skipper KL Rahul with 616 runs.
In the final of the IPL 2022 on Sunday, Gujarat Titans (GT) were crowned champions after beating the Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 7 wickets at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Hardik Pandya led from the front with an all round performance that propelled Gujarat Titans to their first IPL title.
