Dewald Brevis made his Indian Premier League (IPL) debut, announcing his arrival to the fans with a brief cameo in the Mumbai Indians (MI) IPL 2022 match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Wednesday, at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. The youngster also played a no-look shot that reminded fans of legendary cricketer AB de Villiers. Brevis received a drifting delivery from Varun Chakaravarthy in the eighth over, didn’t look up and knocked him over the deep center of the wicket for maximum no-seeing!

The South African U-19 batter, nicknamed “Baby AB de Villiers” by many, was bought by MI this year for Rs 3 crore in the mega sale.
He was a star player for South Africa in the recent U-19 Cricket World Cup. During the competition, he recorded two centuries and three fifties. He hit 506 runs and was also named Player of the Tournament.
Besides Brevis, MI has also spent a lot on the likes of Ishan Kishan and Tim David.

Kishan was released by MI after IPL 2021 but rejoined the mega auction for a whopping Rs 15.25 crore. Meanwhile, David was bought for Rs 8.25 crore.
Daniel Sams was also bought for Rs 2.60 crore and Tilak Varma also joined for Rs 1.70 crore.
