Indian wicketkeeper batter Ishan Kishan has been banned from participating in Sunday’s 3rd T20I against Sri Lanka in Dharamsala. Team India wicket-keeper Ishan Kishan was struck in the head on Saturday while punching in the 2nd T2OI in Dharamsala. Accompanied by a team doctor, he was taken to a local hospital last night for a check-up where a CT scan was performed. Kishan had been hit on the head on Saturday while batting in the second T20I against Sri Lanka and was rushed to a hospital in Kangra, Himachal Pradesh.
“I am attached to the Indian team and I have received information that an Indian player, who suffered a head injury, has been taken to hospital. His CT scan has been done and he has been under observation,” news agency ANI quoted a Dr. Shubham says.
Besides Ishan Kishan, Sri Lanka batter Dinesh Chandimal was also hospitalized after sustaining a thumb injury while fielding in the second T20I.
“A Sri Lankan player has also been hospitalized after suffering a thumb injury in the second T20I. We are monitoring everything now,” added Dr. Shubham to it.
In the second T20I, Shreyas Iyer crushed a classy fifty before Ravindra Jadeja hit 45 in 18 balls to help India beat Sri Lanka.
With this win, India also sealed the two-game (2-0) T20I series with one game to go. The third T20I between the two sides will be played on Sunday.
