Harshal Patel reacts after picking up a wicket in 3rd T20I vs South Africa© BCCI
Harshal Patel finished with marks of 4/25, his best in T20 internationals, to help India win the third T20I against South Africa by 48 runs, keeping the five-game run alive. The medium pacer took the wicket from opener Reeza Hendricks in the power play. But it was his second spell that proved decisive as he removed the in-form David Miller with a slower delivery to all but secured India’s victory after a good show from the batters.
He came back to remove Kagiso Rabada and last man Tabraiz Shamsi to capture his best ever numbers in international T20s. Yuzvendra Chahal was the star with the ball as he took the crucial wickets of Rassie van der Dussen, Dwaine Pretorius and in-form Heinrich Klaasen to break the back of South Africa’s striker. Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled well too.
India got off to a great start by openers Ruturaj Gaikwad and Ishan Kishan as they both slammed shut for half a century.
Twitter celebrated Harshal Patel’s performance as he captivated the Proteas with its variety and slower deliveries. Here are a few tweets

Harshal Patel doesn’t seem to give batsmen a clue on fields that are on the slower side. Seems to be a great asset in the death overs! But what if the circumstances are not favorable? Looking forward to seeing Harshal prove its worth on slippery surfaces!!! #harshalpatel #INDvSA #wt20

Coming back ???? @BCCI 1-2. Let’s do it.
Harshal Patel, you deserve that seat on the flight to Australia (not as a sub or net bowler). #INDvSA— Shivam. (@ShivammmD) June 14, 2022
