Mumbai Indians (MI) want to overcome the absence of Captain Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah while they record it on Sunday Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in a blockbuster Indian Premier League (IPL). Hardik serves a suspension of one match for slow government violations last season, while Bumrah still provides a back injury and will miss a few first games of the tournament. Suryakumar Yadav will lead Mi in the Chepauk against colleague five -time champions CSK, led by Ruturaj Gaikwad.
Suryakumar has been an essential gear in the middle order of Mi. He was their striking executor in IPL 2024 and scored 345 points in 11 games, although Mi ended the bottom of the pile.
Mi have Will Jacks and Ryan Rickelton as opening partners for Rohit with Ishan Kishan are no longer part of the team. However, because Hardik is not part of the MatchDay team, both will probably get their Mi debut.
This may mean that Rickelton will open the Batting, while Jacks will end in the middle order after he has fulfilled that role for England in the past.
Tilak Varma and Suryakumar Yadav -Prescription in the top order make them a formidable power that is ready to challenge every opposition.
The addition of New Zealand Captain Mitchell Santner not only adds more depth to the batting, but also reinforces the spin-bowling department.
Mi's bowling attack still has to be at full power. While they brag Pacers such as Trent Boult, Deepak Chahar and Reece Topley, the team will have to manage their resources carefully in the absence of Bumrah.
Mi predicted XI vs CSK:
Rohit Sharma, Ryan Rickelton (WK), Tilak Varma, Suryakumar Yadav (C), Will Jacks, Naman Dhir, Robin Minz, Mitchell Santner, Karn Sharma, Deepak Chahar, Trent Boult
Impact -Subs: Arjun Tendulkar, Raj Angad Bawa
