Fast bowler Naveen-ul-Haq was included in the Afghanistan squad for the upcoming 2023 Cricket World Cup after missing out on the 2023 Asia Cup selection. The 23-year-old, who plays for Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League, last played and ODI in January 2021 and as a result, his return to the side was a bit surprising to some fans.
