The 2022 IPL has reached its corporate end where Gujarat Titans, Rajasthan Royals, Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore will battle it out in the play-offs to reach the finals. Titans and Royals battle it out for Qualifier 1, while Super Giants and Royal Challengers battle it out in the Eliminator.
Former India opener Virender Sehwag has said he could never have predicted this playoff line at the start of the tournament. In fact, he said he wouldn’t have believed it if someone had told him that these four teams will be in the playoffs.
“I would not have believed if someone had told me that Gujarat Titans, Rajasthan Royals, Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore would make the play-offs.
“I think this reality dawned on us when these four teams played a few games and the way they played the games. We started to believe that they also had a chance. I don’t think I would have predicted this line-up as well. Rajasthan and Bangalore were definitely not my choice and maybe I would have picked one out of the two new teams.

“I’m certainly surprised, but the best four teams of this season are in the playoffs,” Sehwag summarized on Cricbuzz Live.
In the event that Rajasthan Royals does not win the title, IPL will witness a new champion this season.
