The Pakistan vs New Zealand Champions Trophy 2025 collision officially ended Pakistan's 29-year-old waiting to organize an ICC event. It was the Pakistani captain Mohammad Rizwan who won the pitch and bowled for the first time in Karachi's National Stadium on Wednesday. While the two teams returned from their respective changing rooms to start their first battle in the tournament, the Pakistan Air Force produced an air show, which marked the start of the prestigious ICC Champions trophy.

The PAF Air Show was planned by the Pakistan Cricket Board as part of the opening ceremony, which was performed at different locations over several days.

Pakistan brought in Haris Rauf for this competition after the Express Pacer was restored to the opening match on time. On the other hand, the Kiwi's Matt Henry include in their line-up. Both teams are placed in group A together with India and Bangladesh
