Naseem Shah, who was originally a traveling reserve, has been included in Pakistan’s squad for the first Test against Australia after Haris Rauf was ruled out after testing positive for COVID-19, the Pakistan Cricket Board announced on Tuesday. Haris will remain in isolation for five days and will reintegrate with the squad after testing negative at the end of his isolation period. After Rauf’s positive test on Tuesday, the rest of the team members and support staff were tested again. All these tests came out negative.

On Sunday, Faheem Ashraf and Hasan Ali were banned from the first Test against Australia due to injuries. Iftikhar Ahmed and Mohammad Wasim Jr were then added to the roster as replacements for the series-opener, which will be played March 4-8 at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
