Watch: Mohammad Wasim Jr’s Deadly Yorkers Against West Indies in 1st T20I© PCB/Twitter
Pakistan is known to produce some of the best fast bowlers in the game. From Wasim Akram to Waqar Younis, from Imran to Shoaib Akhtar, they have all dominated some of the best hitters of their time. Right arm pacer Mohammad Wasim Jr is the latest addition to this list. After impressing the selectors with his performances in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), as well as on the country’s national circuit, Wasim was named in the Pakistan squad for the ongoing T20I series against the West Indies.
In Monday’s first T20I, Wasim took four for 40, while Pakistan defeated the visitors by a large margin to win the first game in Karachi.
While he was a bit expensive in the match, his ability to beat a “perfect yorker” is a testament to his talent.
The 20-year-old cast two perfect yorkers – the first to Windies skipper Nicholas Pooran’s castle and the second to fire Devon Thomas.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) took to Twitter and shared the clips of both layoffs, captioning it: “The Pakistani pacesetter YORKER! The latest exponent!”
