Virat Kohli was also fired for a first-ball duck in the previous game against LSG.© BCCI/IPL
When SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) chose to bowl against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in Match 35 at Mumbai’s Brabourne Stadium, Marco Jansen produced one of the finest new ball spells in Indian Premier League (IPL) history. Jansen struck three times in the second over, removing RCB captain Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli from consecutive deliveries. He then sent Anuj Rawat on the last ball from the over as RCB was reduced to eight for three. However, it was Kohli’s resignation that caught the attention of the cricket club.
Kohli decided to push Jansen’s pitch for a single, but instead got a fat rim and the ball went straight to Aiden Markram on the second slip.
Following his dismissal, the former RCB skipper, who was also sacked for a first-ball duck in the previous game against Lucknow Super Giants, was left with disbelief.
