Mumbai Indians (MI) Captain Hardik Pandya will miss the opening match on his part of the coming Indian Premier League (IPL) season, which will be five -time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Chepauk on 23 March. Checking for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the schedule of IPL 2025 on Sunday. Titor Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will take on Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the opening match in Eden Gardens on March 23 on March 23.
While the Hyderabad Up Sunrisers will receive Hyderabad last season, Rajasthan Royals (RR) will be on Sunday in the first game, in the second game of the day in Chennai.
Five -time champions Mi, however, will be Hardik without their captain. For the unexpected, Hardik was suspended for one match after Mi's last group stage match of IPL 2024 against Luckknow Super Giants. He also received a fine from RS 30 Lakh for maintaining a slow speed.
“Hardik Pandya, the captain of Mumbai Indians, was fined after his team maintained a slow rate during their IPL 2024 match against Luckknow Super Giants in the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai,” an official IPL declaration had said.
“Because it was the third attack of his team of the season under the Code of Conduct of the IPL with regard to minimum on tariff crimes, Pandya was fined RS 30 Lakh and forbidden to play the next game of the team,” it added to it Toe.
After the ban on CSK, Hardik returns for the second match of the franchise against Gujarat Titans on March 29.
In the absence of Hardik, the will of Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah are all contrary to leading Mi against CSK.
Rohit was fired as a skipper by Mumbai and replaced him by Hardik for IPL 2024. Hardik was booed by Mi -Fans, both in Wankhede and road from home during competitions.
The two would have had a gap, and this influenced the team dynamics when Mi finished the bottom of the pile.
However, that issue is in the past and the two will be united this year as always in Mi's bid on a sixth IPL title.
