Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar praised Rajasthan Royals bowlers Prasidh Krishna and Obed McCoy for their brilliant bowling performance against Royal Challenger Bangalore in Qualifier 2 of the 2022 Indian Premier League on Friday. Tendulkar said RR bowlers never allowed RCB batters to ease the pressure at any point because they sent many star batters from Bangalore back to the hut. Along with Prasidh, Obed McCoy was the main bowler. Both kept Bangalore under pressure. Prasidh fired Karthik, who had played very well on the order with a good strike rate and followed it up with a brilliant delivery to Hasaranga. 157 wasn’t a good overall on this surface,” Sachin Tendulkar said on his YouTube video.
Krishna claimed figures of 3-22, including Virat Kohli’s huge wicket in the second over. He was brought back in the death overs to discharge Dinesh Karthik and Wanindu Hasaranga from consecutive deliveries. McCoy also had brilliant numbers of 3-23. He sent back the RCB captain Faf du Plessis and Mahipal Lomror.
Speaking of Virat Kohli’s wicket, Tendulkar said: “If the ball only moves one way, it’s easy to leave deliveries. However, one of the balls came back and hit Virat on the thigh. The batters then think, ‘I can’t leave balls’. Prasidh’s follow-up delivery (wicketball) was very good. Virat was defeated by the bounce. and the ball went away from the wicket. That was a fantastic delivery.”
“Where there is pace and bounce on the wicket it is not easy for batters to adapt, but Patidar did quite well. The two cover drives he hit on Prasidh his position was excellent. I loved his calm and controlled approach throughout his innings,” Tendulkar added.
RR chased the target with ease as opener Jos Buttler hammered out a superb unbeaten 106 on 60 deliveries. They won by seven wickets with 11 balls left to set up a final showdown against Gujarat Titans.
