Since the start of their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 campaign, Dinesh Karthik has been in stunning form for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). In their third match of the campaign against Rajasthan Royals at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Tuesday, he played a 44* match-winning knockout on just 23 deliveries to help RCB chase their 170-run goal. He came in with a score of 87/5 after 12.3 overs, but set a 67 point lead with Shahbaz Ahmed (45 out of 26) to get his team across the finish line.
Former Indian batter Wasim Jaffer took to Twitter to praise Karthik, who also recently started his commentary career.
“The commentator DK can talk,” he wrote in his tweet, before adding “Well played.”
His message was accompanied by a photo to indicate that Dinesh Karthik is “not ready”.

There have been concerns about Karthik’s form in the IPL in recent seasons. However, he has come back with a bang this year and put all questions about his abilities to rest.
In RCB’s first match, against Punjab Kings, he defeated 32 from just 14 deliveries to help the team place a total of 205/2, although the Mayank Agarwal-led side were able to put in a massive chase.

He then played a pivotal cameo against his old team Kolkata Knight Riders, making 14 of seven deliveries to help RCB complete a tricky chase after a top order collapse.
So far this season, mostly in the death-overs, he has racked up 90 runs on 44 deliveries and has yet to be fired.
