After Royal Challengers Bangalore’s Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 journey ended with a defeat to Rajasthan Royals in Qualifier 2, star batter Virat Kohli took to social media on Saturday and wrote an emotional note to everyone associated with the franchise. Kohli was sacked for just seven runs in RCB’s seven-wicket defeat to RR at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Friday. The former RCB skipper thanked the 12th Man Army and management for their continued support throughout the season and said they “make cricket special”.
“Sometimes you win, sometimes you don’t, but the 12th Man Army, you’ve been fantastic, you’ve always supported us throughout our campaign. You make cricket special. The learning never stops. A big thank you to the management, support staff and all people who are part of this great franchise. See you next season,” Kohli captioned the message.

Kohli’s struggle in IPL 2022 was quite clear as the 33-year-old managed to score just 341 runs in 16 games, including two half-centuries.
Amid his recent struggles, several former cricketers including former India head coach Ravi Shastri have said Kohli should take a break from the sport.
Kohli is equipped for the upcoming T20I five-game series against South Africa, which starts on June 9.

KL Rahul will lead the team in the absence of skipper Rohit Sharma who has also endured a poor performance during the ongoing IPL season.
Both Kohli and Rohit will return to action in the one-off Test against England, to be played between 1 and 5 July at Edgbaston in Birmingham.
