In the final league game of the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) season, two centuries were scored – by Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill – on a Super Sunday. Kohli appeared to have put Royal Challengers Bangalore on the verge of qualifying for the play-offs, but Gill helped Gujarat Titans take a six-wicket win, resulting in RCB’s elimination from the tournament. While the cricketing world loved Kohli and Gill’s performance during the match, even former India captain Sourav Ganguly shared a few words on Twitter. But fans of Kohli and RCB weren’t entirely happy with Dada.
In his tweet, Ganguly praised the charismatic nature of the IPL, scoring two hundred in the last game of the league phase. But while the former BCCI president specifically praised Gill, Virat Kohli’s name was not mentioned in his tweet.

Seeing that Gill deserved a special mention in the tweet, but not Kohli, RCB fans expressed their disappointment.

The tense relationship between Ganguly and Kohli has been rumored for quite some time now. The saga intensified after the ‘no handshake’ episode between the two cricket greats. Though a handshake took place between them when Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore met for the second time, some fans believe that things are not going well between the two.
As for the match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Gujarat Titans, defeat for Kohli’s side resulted in elimination from the tournament.
